The lava flows
The lava flows that have crossed the territory of Linguaglossa over the centuries tell the story of Mount Etna’s powerful and transformative spirit. Each eruption has shaped the landscape, leaving behind fossil lava fields that define the region and enrich the soil with precious minerals.
From these dark lands emerge the renowned “black vineyards,” a symbol of fertility and the deep bond between the community and the volcano—seen not only as a primal force but also as a source of life and renewal.

Cannon Stone: Nature Forged in Fire
Cannon stone isn’t just any volcanic rock: it’s the fossilized memory of trees forged by fire. As lava once flowed through the land, it engulfed entire trees. While the magma solidified, the burning trunks left behind large cavities, creating a rock like no other.
In the Ammura vineyards, a massive cannon stone stands proudly—an awe-inspiring symbol of the volcano’s ancient power.
